genitiv, dativ si nominativ profesori de limba româna si probabil engleza si, ei aranca aceste cuvintele împrejur......like i would ever use them any other time....frankly i find these formal names confusing...why not just say 'showing possession' or it means something like to or for????

maybe this is just my own personal mental block. but i am trying to overcome these mental blocks so.....

genitiv (genitive) - grammatical case expressing possession

nominativ (nominative) relating to, or being the case of the subject of a finite verb (as I in I wrote the letter) and of words identified with the subject of a couple, such as a predicate nominative (as children in These are his children).

nominativul - un prieten, niste prieteni, o prietenă, niste prietene

dativ (dative) - grammatical case that marks the recipient of action (often indicates the indirect object of the verb) and that can be used with prepositions or other function words corresponding in meaning to English TO and FOR.

dativul de obicei răspunde la întrebarea "CUI?" to WHOM?

so i looked up UNUI, UNEI in both dictionare.com and dexonline.ro and neither list these words....

Cui telefonezi?
Unui prieten.

Cui telefonezi?
