Unde esti? AND De unde esti? another subtle difference.... again another first thing you learn in basic is Unde esti? and you're taught to reply... Eu sunt din (name your country.)

Unde esti? = Where are you?

De unde esti? = Where are you from?

Frankly one time another student asked me Unde esti? and I thought that was weird (you know those gut feelings)...I knew that it meant where are you (from) but I also knew it meant where are you now? so i just stared blankly at this guy and i think he thought i was weird. So teachers of limba româna - VA ROG - te intreb - VA ROG - could you be clear about that right from the start?  ¶ 4:33 p.m.
