a putea - can/may you can use the conjugated form of a putea with the infinitive form of the other verb you want to use.....one method is not more popular then the other - just a different way. it's all up to your personal preference....

eu pot + infinitiv
tu poți + infinitiv
el, ea poate + infinitiv
noi putem + infinitiv
voi puteți + infinitiv
ei, ele pot + infinitiv

Unde pot gasi de sare? - Where can I find salt?
Unde pot cumpara slanina? - Where can I buy slanina?
